“The Power of Habit: Supporting the Challenge of Daily Blogging as a Mid-Career Disabled Blogger”

Spread the love

Continuing to post blog articles daily is no easy task for anyone. For someone managing a life with mid-career severe disabilities, balancing daily life, work, and regular blogging makes this challenge even greater. Yet, I persist in daily blogging because I believe my words can inspire, connect, and offer courage to many. The driving force behind this ongoing commitment is the immense power of habit.

Last year, I maintained an ambitious schedule: four posts daily, with six posts on Wednesdays and Saturdays. To be honest, there were moments when I felt physically and mentally exhausted. But the sense of accomplishment from staying consistent and the encouraging words from readers who resonate with my content kept me going. This year, I’m adopting a more sustainable approach—maintaining four posts daily as a baseline while allowing for additional posts when I have extra time and energy.

The Power of Connection Through Blogging
I started blogging with the hope of being helpful and sharing my experiences with others. Living with a severe disability is far from easy. There are days when my body doesn’t cooperate, and societal barriers often feel insurmountable. But I wanted to create a space through my blog where people facing similar struggles could feel, “I’m not alone.”

Each time I post, messages like “This resonated with me” or “Your words gave me strength” remind me why I started. These messages are my greatest joy and a crucial source of support that drives me forward.

Harnessing the Power of Habit
Without the power of habit, maintaining daily posts would be nearly impossible. When I first began blogging, each post required a significant amount of energy and willpower. Over time, however, the act of writing became an integral part of my daily routine. Now, it feels as natural as brushing my teeth or making coffee in the morning.

Three Keys to Building a Writing Habit:

Start Small
You don’t need to aim for perfection from day one. My first posts were far from polished, but even those small victories gave me the confidence to keep going.

Create Your Own Rhythm
I integrated blogging into my morning routine. Writing during the quiet hours of the morning helps me organize my thoughts and has become a daily ritual.

Don’t Push Too Hard
Overworking yourself will lead to burnout. This year, I’m focusing on balance—giving myself permission to skip a post when needed. This approach has made the process more sustainable and enjoyable.

What I Want to Share as a Disabled Blogger
Living with a disability means that simply “getting through the day” is often a monumental challenge. But taking on challenges—no matter how small—brings meaning to life. Through blogging, I hope to convey the importance of persistence and the quiet strength that lies in not giving up.

Disabilities may slow us down, but they don’t define or limit what we can achieve. Progress comes in small steps, and those steps are more than enough.

Expanding a Circle of Empathy
This blog wouldn’t exist without all of you. Your readership and encouragement are what keep me writing. This year, I want to continue growing this space with you, expanding a circle of empathy and support.

Every moment where I feel I’ve “helped someone” through my words is my greatest reward. Together, let’s cherish those small steps and keep moving forward.

If this article resonates with you, please consider sharing it with others or leaving a comment. Let’s keep building the strength to move forward together.
