Today I’m going to talk about Earth Overshoot Day.

Earth Overshoot Day is the day when humankind has exhausted all the resources that the

earth regenerates in a year.

Glasgow City Council leader Susan Aitken announced that 2021’s Earth Overshoot Day ha

arrived on July 29th.

If we consume at this pace, it seems that this year we will use the resources of “1.7 earths”.

Japan, where I live, consumes the fifth largest amount of resources in the world, and Japan’s

Earth Overshoot Day was May 6.

When thinking about resources, I recently think that there is no choice but to find a way of

life that does not produce new products, rather than recycling that uses a lot of energy.
