I do not consider blogging and counseling as mere jobs. To me, they are forms of meditation—ways to connect with nature, empathize with myself and my clients, and foster acceptance. In our daily lives, we are constantly busy, moving at a relentless pace. However, taking a moment to pause and look inward can bring immense healing and self-awareness.
Weaving Words as a Reflection of the Heart
The act of writing a blog is a process of translating thoughts and emotions into words, making them visible. Writing helps to untangle chaotic feelings and thoughts, much like a river clearing after a storm, bringing a sense of calm. I call this practice “writing meditation.”
For me, as a person with a disability, blogging is also a journey of self-acceptance. By expressing my daily joys and struggles, the conflicts I face in society, and my raw emotions, I not only deepen my self-understanding but also share these experiences with my readers.
Receiving responses from readers reassures me that I am not alone in my feelings. The act of sharing fosters a sense of connection, dissolving the boundaries between myself and others. Have you ever felt the same way? If so, I invite you to share this post with someone important to you, so we can continue building a community of empathy.
Counseling as a Meditative Dialogue
I experience a similar meditative state during counseling sessions. Listening attentively to a client, tuning into the emotions and messages beneath their words, and accepting them without judgment or denial brings a profound sense of peace—like a still lake settling into serenity.
Creating a safe space where a client can openly express themselves is crucial. To do this, I must first be calm and maintain inner peace. This is why counseling, to me, is also a form of meditation, a moment to center myself.
As clients delve into their inner world, they begin to uncover insights and gradually lighten their emotional burdens. This process mirrors meditation, where the mind’s noise gradually fades. This is why I consider counseling “listening meditation.”
Becoming One with Nature
I cherish my time in nature—the rustling wind, whispering trees, chirping birds, and flowing rivers. These sounds harmonize with the innate sense of tranquility we all possess.
When I write or engage in counseling, I recall the stillness of nature. Just as nature calms the mind, I strive to bring that same peace to my words and interactions with clients. In doing so, I realize that my mere existence is enough, and this feeling extends to those I work with. A space filled with this serenity becomes a place of true comfort.
Meditation as a Path to Growth
Blogging and counseling are not just about sharing information or helping others—they are ways to elevate myself.
Through writing, I clarify my thoughts and deepen my self-awareness. Through counseling, I experience the quiet power of empathy. These practices allow me to connect more deeply with myself and others.
If this article resonates with you, I encourage you to comment and share it. By expanding our circle of empathy, we can create more spaces where people feel safe and understood. Through writing and listening, I will continue to contribute to a more connected and compassionate world.
