“What do we work for?”
I’ve asked myself this question countless times throughout my life.

When I was young, I worked to survive. I needed to earn a living, support my family, and fulfill my role as a member of society.
After becoming disabled, I found myself simply grateful for the ability to work at all. I was happy just to have a job, to feel connected to society in some way.

But now, I’ve come to a realization.
For my final job, I don’t just want to work for survival—I want to work for my community.
This realization didn’t happen overnight. It is the result of everything I have experienced and learned along the way.

How My View on Work Has Changed
For most of my life, I saw work as a means to earn money.
Of course, job satisfaction and a sense of purpose were important, but the primary reason for working was to sustain my life.

After becoming a person with a severe disability, my perspective shifted.
There was a time when I thought, “Maybe society doesn’t need me anymore.” I worried that I wouldn’t be able to contribute in any meaningful way.

But through rehabilitation and a gradual return to work, I realized how valuable it was just to have a job.
It felt great to be a part of society again and to do something useful.

However, as time passed, another thought emerged.
“Is my work truly helping someone?”
“For my final job, I want to do something that contributes to my community.”

That is where I stand today.

What Does It Mean to Contribute to My Community?

It could be volunteering, supporting welfare programs, revitalizing local businesses, or contributing to education. There are many ways to give back.

What I am considering now is managing hydroelectric power operations.
Hydroelectric power harnesses natural resources from the local environment to produce sustainable energy.
Electricity is a critical part of both daily life and industry, and ensuring a stable power supply directly contributes to the well-being of a community.

By working in this field, I believe I could genuinely see and feel the impact of my work on my community.

Why Choose Community Contribution as My Final Job?
I have held many different jobs throughout my life.
I have worked for corporations, engaged in personal projects, and even continued working after becoming disabled.

Along the way, I have constantly questioned the meaning of work.
