“I Want to Increase My Freedom”—Reflections from Practicing a Parallel Life

Spread the love

For the past few years, I have been working at a manufacturing company while practicing a parallel life. Parallel life refers to a lifestyle where you pursue multiple careers and lifestyles simultaneously, broadening the scope of your life. When I first started practicing parallel life, I believed it would allow me to expand my possibilities and engage in several projects at once. However, lately, I’ve been feeling a growing desire to “live more freely” and “increase my freedom.” In this article, I want to share why I feel this way and discuss the kind of lifestyle that focuses on increasing freedom.

Why Do I Want to Increase My Freedom?
First, let’s explore why I’ve started feeling the need to increase my freedom. The main reason is time constraints. Most of my weekdays are spent at work in the manufacturing company, and with frequent overtime and business trips, I hardly have any time left for my other projects and interests. While I do find fulfillment and satisfaction in my job, I also feel an overwhelming desire to dedicate more of my resources to the things I truly want to do.

The reason I chose a parallel life was to broaden my life choices and gain diverse experiences through work, hobbies, and learning. However, in reality, having a full-time job at the center of my life limits the time and energy I can dedicate to other pursuits. The feeling that I want to “live more freely, at my own pace” has naturally begun to grow within me.

What Is a Lifestyle with More Freedom?
So, what exactly is the “lifestyle with more freedom” that I’m aiming for? It’s a lifestyle where I can increase my choices based on my values and life work, allowing me to live flexibly. Currently, I am balancing my work at the manufacturing company while writing blogs and engaging in counseling. My ideal is to continue this balance, but the way I work now tends to place the company job at the center.

To increase my freedom, I need to shift toward a lifestyle where I can manage my time more freely. I’m thinking about incorporating more flexible working arrangements, such as remote work, to enhance the freedom in my life. Additionally, in practicing parallel life, I want to create an environment where I can focus more on counseling and blogging, which are my true passions.

The Appeal and Potential of Parallel Life
The most attractive aspect of parallel life is that it allows you to pursue different fields and interests simultaneously. It’s incredibly appealing to be able to work on multiple projects without being tied to just one job. I believe that the skills I’ve gained from working in the manufacturing industry can also be applied to other areas. For example, through blogging and counseling, I hope to connect with more people and contribute positively to their lives. That would be a tremendous joy for me.

To realize a more flexible parallel life, time management is key. If we are always consumed by work, we won’t have the energy or time to invest in other interests or projects. That’s why I feel the need to rethink how I work and take steps toward a more flexible use of my time. This feels like the next important step in my life journey.

What Can I Do Now to Gain More Freedom?
Now that I’ve realized my desire to increase my freedom, what actions can I take? First, I believe it’s important to make small changes in my current work situation. For example, I can propose more flexible working conditions, or explore ways to increase remote work opportunities. It’s also crucial to protect my personal time and start planning for a future where I can fully embrace a parallel life.

Furthermore, I want to invest more resources into my life work, such as blogging and counseling, with the goal of eventually shifting these pursuits to the center of my life. Of course, I plan to continue working at the manufacturing company while trying to find ways to balance both. By gradually increasing the freedom in my life, I believe I can make steady progress toward the lifestyle I envision.

What I Hope You’ll Take Away and Share
Through this blog, I hope that you, the readers, will also reflect on the idea of “increasing your freedom.” Every day, we are faced with countless choices in both work and life. It’s important to think about how much time we can dedicate to what we truly want to do and how we can create more freedom in our lives.

For me, as someone practicing parallel life, freedom means “how I spend my time” and “how much I can focus on what I truly want to do.” I’m sure that you, too, have opportunities to increase your freedom. Even small changes can lead to significant steps forward in the future.

If you resonate with this message, I would be delighted if you shared this article. If more people start thinking about how to live their lives more freely and make that a reality, we can all experience a more fulfilling and enriching life. Let’s take that first step together toward achieving the freedom we seek.
