Choosing Where to Live and a Rich Life in the Countryside

In today’s society, the choice of where to live has a significant impact on our lives. Deciding between the hustle and bustle of the city and the tranquility of the countryside is a key issue directly affecting the quality of our lives. As someone living in the countryside, I have come to realize how peaceful and rich life can be outside of work. Through this experience, I have become even more aware of the importance of where we choose to live.

1. Comparing City Life and Countryside Life
First, let’s compare the living environments of the city and the countryside, as each has its pros and cons. In the city, the biggest advantages are convenience and accessibility. There are shopping centers, entertainment facilities, and medical institutions nearby, and various transportation options are available. On the other hand, cities are crowded, and there’s always a sense of urgency. Noise and air quality issues are common, making it easy to feel stressed.

In contrast, the countryside offers a quiet environment surrounded by nature. The air is fresh, and you can relax while listening to the sounds of nature. People move at a slower pace, and there’s a sense of ease. However, the countryside often lacks infrastructure like medical facilities or shopping centers, making it less convenient than the city. Yet, this very inconvenience is part of the charm of country life. Daily life is simpler, allowing you to focus on the essentials.

2. Feeling the Richness of Life in the Countryside
Since moving to the countryside, I have particularly felt that my time outside of work is surprisingly rich. In the city, even after work, there was always a lingering sense of rush, and I found it hard to fully relax even on my days off. But living in the countryside has freed me from this constant busyness. For example, on weekends, I enjoy hiking in the nearby mountains or rivers, or growing seasonal vegetables in my garden, allowing me to spend more time in nature. These moments help me unwind, reducing my daily stress.

Additionally, the way people interact in the countryside is different. In the city, interactions with neighbors are rare, and individualism is more emphasized. However, in the countryside, there is a culture of helping and supporting each other. For example, during harvest season, neighbors share their crops and organize events together. These relationships with the local community add to the richness of life in the countryside.

3. The Importance of Choosing Where to Live
Choosing where to live reflects how we want to live our lives. By living in the countryside, I have been able to confront my inner self and realize what truly matters. While a successful career is important, it is not the only measure of a fulfilling life. Rather, it is the connection with nature, relationships with others, and inner peace that bring me true happiness.

Living in the countryside, though simpler than city life, offers a deeper sense of satisfaction. Feeling the changing seasons and living in harmony with the rhythm of nature brings a sense of calm and balance to my life. This is something I could never have experienced in the busy city, and it’s one of the key reasons I find great value in country life.

4. Parallel Life and Choosing Where to Live
In my view, the choice of where to live plays a significant role in practicing a parallel life. Nowadays, it is possible to live in the countryside while leveraging urban networks for work and career. By using the internet, remote work and online business opportunities are also available. In fact, most of my work is connected to cities, but my life is based in the countryside. This “dual life” helps me strike a balance between work and personal life.

Choosing where to live goes beyond just selecting a physical location; it shapes our entire lifestyle. While the excitement and convenience of city life are appealing, the peace of living close to nature, the slower pace, and the connections with the community are irreplaceable to me. Ultimately, the key to deciding where to live is answering the internal question of how we want to live and what we value most.

Conclusion
Choosing where to live has a direct impact on the quality of our lives. Living a slow-paced life in the countryside enriches time outside of work and brings a sense of peace. By carefully weighing the benefits of both the city and the countryside, we can make informed decisions about the best living environment for a fulfilling life.
