Since becoming a mid-career person with a severe disability, my way of life has changed significantly. Despite these changes, I have not lost my desire to work and continue pursuing what I love. For me, embracing online work has been a beacon of hope. In this article, I’ll share my experience of remodeling my home to create a workspace that supports my online livelihood and passion projects.

This remodel was a crucial step to help me, as a person with a severe disability, sustain both my livelihood (income-generating work) and life’s work (activities that bring fulfillment and self-realization). Currently, I work as an illustrator, blogger, and counselor. Each of these roles requires a different type of environment. For instance, as an illustrator, I need a spacious desk for digital painting. As a blogger, I require a quiet space to concentrate on writing. As a counselor, I need a private area suitable for online consultations. To meet all these needs, remodeling my home became a necessity.
