Psychologically, humans are far more sensitive to losses than to gains.
This is known as loss aversion.
It’s a survival instinct—one that worked well in the past, but in modern life, it can hold us back. We become afraid to make decisions. We cling to everything, even if it’s hurting us.

I, too, lost physical freedom but gained mental freedom.
